House Cleaning Checklist
Creating a house cleaning
checklist can make a difference in how long it takes to clean your home,
how frustrating it is and how well the job actually gets done.
Make a Checklist
The first items you should put down on your list are any tasks that will take time and can be left alone, such as:
- Laundry
- Soaking screens
- Airing out whatever
Tidying Up
You have to get rid off all the clutter before you can even know
what is in store for you. Be sure to put everything away where it belongs instead
of just shuffling it around. Otherwise, it will just get in your way again later on.
Open All the Windows
A lot of dust will get kicked up and a lot of chemicals
will be used. You don’t want to get some sort of lung infection, do you? So open those windows and let the fresh air in!
Procrastinate
Take a break, watch a little TV and get mentally prepared for
cleaning your home. Let's face it, cleaning isn't the most fun job there is. Sometimes you just need a bit of extra time to get ready for the task at hand.
Where to Start
Clean the bathroom first. This room is always the worst, so it is best to get at it right away or
else you will never get to it. Afterwards, tackle the kitchen. This is the second most irritating room. Once this room is clean, you’ll feel like your
pretty much done.
Coffee Time
Now it’s time for another break. Hey, guess what? You haven’t done the living room
yet. Throw on the TV and clean while you watch "The View". The four fantastic
ladies will talk so much, it will hypnotize you into such a trance that you will
have finished the whole room before Lisa Ling gets to her segment "Ling Thing".
Now do the bedrooms. Also, feel free to take a nap in each individual bed.
You’ve earned it.
Lastly, do the floors. This can be a pain, but after all of the cleaning you
have done so far, tons of stuff has probably fallen onto it. Cleaning the floors last ensures
that you get every last molecule of grime in your home.
Now get the laundry out of the machines, fold it and - ta da - a clean
house.
